NIOST Summer Seminars offer professional development to those in afterschool, out-of-school time, youth development, education or related fields.
Registration: You may register for one seminar per session, as seminars run concurrently. To register, fill out the online registration form.
Session 1: July 23-24
This seminar is for afterschool directors, supervisors, curriculum and education coordinators, and 21st CCLC personnel interested in utilizing the Afterschool Program Assessment System (APAS). Learn more >>

Session 2: July 25-26
The purpose of this seminar is to help APAS users build confidence in understanding data, develop an improvement plan, build a team around program improvement and utilize the data to benefit the youth that attend their program. Learn more >>
This seminar is a primer in understanding the current child and youth wellness crisis and developing the necessary approaches to increase physical activity and healthy eating in your out-of-school time program. Learn more >>

Session 3: July 27
In this one-day retreat, participants will have the opportunity to reflect upon the original calling to their work; recall the people and events that influenced the thread that runs through their lives; and examine who they are and how they want to be in their work as leaders in a changing and diverse out-of-school time landscape. Location:Wellesley College Club at Wellesley College, Wellesley, Massachusetts. NIOST will arrange shuttle service from the Wellesley train station to the Wellesley College Club.
