HEPA Standards Presented on Capitol Hill

capitol2Congressional staff on Capitol Hill March 10 heard Jennifer Hoffman, health partnerships and policy specialist at HOST member YMCA of the USA, present the National AfterSchool Association's Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) Standards.

The standards, developed and supported by the HOST Coalition, are evidence-based standards that foster the best possible nutrition and physical activity outcomes for children in grades K-12 attending OST programs. At the same briefing, Jodi Grant, executive director of HOST member Afterschool Alliance, shared key findings from the new "Kids on the Move" report that looked at parents' satisfaction with healthy eating and physical activity offerings in their children's afterschool programs.
