Tips and Resources

  • Build Our Kids' Success (BOKS) has shared a complete list of all the BOKS At-Home resources available for free download.
  • The Afterschool Alliance has compiled examples of how afterschool providers across the country are helping youth and families access meals and foodstay active and eat healthy, and do more for school and community well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Research and Policy 

  • Nearly 60 percent of American children do not have healthy cardiorespiratory fitness, a key measure of physical fitness and overall health, according to “Cardiorespiratory Fitness in Youth--An Important Marker of Health,” a new Scientific Statement from the American Heart Association.
  • Salud America! is encouraging people to submit comments to support strong limits on added sugars and no sugary drinks for toddlers in a report that will help shape the U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
