With more than 20 years experience in the after-school field, Tracey C. Ballas, Chief Executive Officer of School-Age Notes, Inc., brings a wealth of experience to her workshops and trainings. For the past 15 years, she has been an Education and Training Associate for the National Institute on Out-of-School Time (NIOST) at the Wellesley Centers for Women, a national action/research project providing technical assistance, consultation, and specialized training to schools and other educational organizations throughout the United States.
She is the former statewide coordinator of the Ohio Project on Out-of-School Time and the former director of the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association. Tracey served as the director of Child Care Services for the YMCA of Central Ohio and was the director of the Zanesville City Schools Before-and-After School Programs.
Tracey was one of the founders of the National School-Age Care Alliance (now the National After School Association) and served as president of that organization for six years. She also co-founded and is a past president of the Ohio Professionals for School-Age Children. In June 2005, Tracey took over ownership of School-Age Notes, a provider of resources for after-school professionals since 1980.
She has testified in Congress and served as an advisor to former Vice-President Albert Gore on the Welfare to Work Committee. As well, Tracey has authored a number of articles and has been featured in Child magazine, Working Mother magazine, and Parenting magazine.
