Sarah Mello

Sarah Mello is an adjunct faculty member at Harcum College and a training coordinator at Resources for Human Development, both in Philadelphia, PA. She has worked in the field of afterschool education for 20 years. Much of her work has centered on creating engaging ways to incorporate academic content in afterschool programs. Sarah has authored and co- authored several books, trainings and curricula that support aligning afterschool activities to learning goals and building strong and effective partnerships between schools and community organizations. Prior to her current positions, Mello was the Director of Training and Technical Assistance at the Center for Afterschool Education @ Foundations, Inc. in New Jersey, and the Education Partnerships Coordinator for School’s Out Washington in Seattle, WA.
Mello holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and Master’s Degrees in Education Leadership and Organizational Development. She is currently living in New Jersey and raising her own school-aged child - who, of course, is enrolled in an afterschool program.
