Kids Set the Pace for Family Health

Children who take part in BOKS influence their family attitude and behaviors towards physical activity and healthy eating.

A research snapshot by NIOST Sr. Research Scientist Georgia Hall and Brooke Rosenbauer, Manager of Strategy & Impact, Social Purpose at BOKS, Reebok International, summarizes a study of the impact of a before-school physical activity program on the families of child participants. Study examines the association of participation with change in family attitude and behaviors towards physical activity participation and healthy eating. This study expands on a previous Build Our Kids’ Success (BOKS) project that looked at various levels of physical activity between before-school PA program participants and non-program participants.
